Cache Solver

In the Cache Solver you can enter corrected coordinates and add personal notes to geocache and submit them to geocaching.com. You can take photos for a geocache or a particular stage, like the instructions written on a stage of a multi geocache. You can enter your variables in a structured way.

Proximity alert

You can leave your iPhone in the pocket while walking to a geocache or to the next stage. L4C tracks the distance to your current target and notifies you if you come closer. If you have a Apple Watch, you will see it on your wrist.

Safari Extension

The Safari Extension recognizes GC-Codes on websites and adds links to Looking4Cache in the website. For this you have to open the extension on the particular site. So you can open geocaches without copy the GC-Code with ease. Useful on coord.info links.

Own links

You can specify own links to other apps and websites containing variables like the geocache code or the coordinates. This links you can use inside a geocache or on the external navigation view. So you can start other apps and websites, like sending a geocache through WhatsApp.

Add events in your calendar

For events you can easily create appointments in your iOS calendar. The coordinates of the event and the listing text will be inserted automatically.

Search Geocaches by Address

When using the search for geocaches you can lookup the coordinates by entering a address. Good if you want to search geocaches far away.

 

Maps

Offline maps (Topo vector maps)

Maybe this is the most powerful additional function of the pro version which no other iOS geocaching app offers. You can download regions and sometimes whole countries from a free download area inside the app and use them offline.
The maps uses full detailed OpenStreetMap data extended by contour lines. The maps of the whole world will be refreshed once per month.

Offline maps (Tiles)

You can use dedicated programs like MOBAC to create your own offline maps and use the in L4C. With this it is possible to create special maps (satellite imagery, regional topo maps) and use them offline.

Own maps

You can add tile servers in the configuration. On the web there are several sites providing great regional or special maps you can add to Looking4Cache and use them online.

Google Maps Satellite

The satellite images from Google can be added on top of the normal map. With a fader you can adjust the opacity, so you can see a street map and a satellite images at the same time.

Live Map

You can view geocaches also without performing a search and without importing a GPX file. The Live Map loads the geocaches of the current map viewport automatically. While driving this feature is very interesting when you follow your current position on the map.

 

Logs

Add images to logs

When editing a log you can also submit a image.

Trackable auto log

If you have a trackable traveling with you with function will be very practical for you. You can activate the auto log feature for each trackable in your inventory. If you log a geocache with a found, the trackable will be logged with a visit.

Show own logs

You can show all logs of your own user in chronological order. Including the images you added to your logs.

Write logs in landscape orientation

If you prefer the bigger keyboard of the landscape mode to write logs, it is possible in the pro version.

 

Geocache lists

Select multiple lists at once

You don´t have to switch between lists, you can load several lists at the same time.

Create new lists from filtered results

You can save the results of your filters as new lists.

 

GPX and GGZ

Importing from mail and other apps

Looking4Cache Pro uses the ‘Open in..’ function of iOS. With this you can open GPX files directly from mails or other apps like Dropbox or Safari. You don´t have to use iTunes on your computer to copy these files.

GGZ import

If you want to import a mass of geocaches from applications like GSAK you can use the Garmin GGZ format.

Export GPX files

You can export the current displayed geocaches or whole lists as a GPX file. This files you can open in other apps or attach to a mail. If it is a small number of geocaches a summary of these caches with the essential informations is added to this mail.
